The unique identifier assigned to a credit account.
Definition
The Account Number is a unique alphanumeric identifier assigned by the data furnisher to each credit account. This number is used to track and identify accounts in Metro 2 files and must remain consistent throughout the life of the account. Truncation or masking may be applied for consumer protection on credit reports.
