B017Highest Credit / Original Amount Is Zero

Highest Credit or Original Loan Amount is zero on an account that should carry one

    Affected Field
    #26Highest Credit/Original Loan Amount

    Description

For installment and mortgage accounts the Highest Credit/Original Loan Amount represents the original amount borrowed and should be greater than zero. A zero value on these portfolio types usually indicates the field was never mapped. Revolving and line-of-credit accounts use Credit Limit instead.

    Common Causes

    • Original loan amount not captured at origination
    • Field left zero-filled by default
    • Confusing Highest Credit with Current Balance

    How to Fix

    1. 1Populate the original amount borrowed for installment/mortgage loans
    2. 2For revolving/open accounts, report Credit Limit rather than Highest Credit
    3. 3Backfill historical original amounts where available
