    Description

    The Compliance Condition Code (CCC) flags FCRA-related conditions such as an account in dispute (XB) or a dispute resolution. When populated, it must be one of the defined CCC values. The CCC is how a furnisher signals dispute status to the bureau — it does not, by itself, perform any dispute resolution; investigations are handled separately through the bureau's process.

    Common Causes

    • Free-text placed in the CCC field
    • Using a retired or non-standard condition code

    How to Fix

    1. 1Populate only defined Compliance Condition Codes
    2. 2Use XB to indicate an account the consumer disputes, per FCRA
    3. 3Clear the CCC when the condition no longer applies
