Status Code DA: Delete - Non-Fraud Reason
Delete entire account for reasons other than fraud
Overview
- Used to remove an account from credit reports
- Account will no longer appear on consumer credit files
- Used for corrections, errors, or policy reasons
- Not fraud-related - use DF for confirmed fraud
Common Use Cases
- 1Account reported in error
- 2Duplicate tradeline needs removal
- 3Legal settlement requires deletion
- 4Data correction requires account removal
Reporting Guidelines
- Send Metro 2 file with DA status and zero balance
- All bureaus will suppress the tradeline
- Document reason for deletion internally
- Cannot be undone - account cannot be re-reported
